The Brew
Rob Williams- Bass & Vocals

Rob Williams has been playing bass since he was twelve and purchased his first axe at Sattler’s on Broadway. His early influences were the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Cream, and the Doors. After hearing the Mahavishnu Orchestra with opening act Aerosmith at the Century Theater, Rob developed a passion for jazz fusion. That inspired him to study at Berklee College and the New England Conservatory in Boston, leading to a Bachelor of Music degree. While in Boston, Rob joined a successful show band that toured and played an extended booking in Las Vegas. After college graduation, Rob returned to Buffalo, forming the cutting edge jazz fusion band “City” in 1984. Band members included great local players Rick Strauss (Spyro Gyra), Ted Reinhardt (Gamalon), Wayne Breloff, John Bacon, Carl Corwin, Marvin Patterson, Jeff Breloff, and Bobby Jones. Rob also had the great honor of playing in a three piece group with legendary guitarist Roy Buchanan. After several years away from music, Rob spent two years looking for the right group. The guys in The Brew are a great fit. “This band has given me the opportunity to play hot music for fun people with a great group of guys. They’re all dedicated, experienced musicians who know how to have a good time and get down with the crowd! ”

Rob plays Lakland & Sadowsky basses and uses Mesa Boogie amplification.
